VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Lowndes County leaders are expected to pass a proposed budget Tuesday.
The proposed 2018 - 2019 budget is similar to last year's budget, with the exception of a new probation department.
That department will cost just over $600,000 and will bring over a dozen jobs to the area.
County Commission Chairman Bill Slaughter says change will help the county run more efficiently and help those involved in the probation process.
