Lowndes County Elections Tuesday; Here are the Candidates

VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - Tuesday is election day for many across the state of Georgia and several positions in Lowndes County are up for grabs.

WTXL took a look at the Lowndes County Sample Ballot to see who residents could be voting for.

In Hahira, Kenneth J. Davis is the incumbent for the City Council District 2 seat and is running unopposed. District seat 3 has a little more competition with incumbent Ralph Clendenin running against Stacey Dershimer and Patrick Warren .

Over in Lake Park, incumbent Mayor Eric Schindler is running unopposed. Five individuals are running for four City Council seats; Ronald Carter, Paul Mulkey, Vert Rutland, Jena Sandlin, and Debbie Sauls.

There are several more positions up for grabs in Valdosta.

The mayoral race is composed of incumbent John W. Gayle, Brooks D. Bivins, and J.D. Rice.

Four City Council positions are up for grabs. Linda Jurczak, incumbent Ben Norton, Jim Parker, Ronnie Pierce and Gregory L. Williams Jr. are running for City Council at Large.

District 1 City Council seat is between Wade McCrae, Vivian Miller-Cody, and incumbent James R. Wright.

District seat 3 is between Marion Ricco Ramsey and Sonny Vickers; seat 5 is between Dallas Bennett and incumbent Tim Carroll.

Two School Board members Kelly C. Wilson and Debra Bell are running unopposed and the School Board at large seat is between Stacy Bush and Edward Mack.

There is also a fourth School Board seat for district 6 to fill the term of a member that resigned; that race is between R.D. Martin and Tad Moseley.

Voters also have the option of writing in a candidate for every position.
