TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - A man was arrested Tuesday morning after the mother of his child accused him of sexual battery.

The Tallahassee Police Department says that around 9:19am, officers responded to the Oasis Apartments on Miccosukee Commons Drive in reference to a sexual battery.

The victim had provided dispatch with a description of the suspect and said that his name was Kentwyon Davis, the father of her child.

An officer found a man matching the description walking near Mahan Drive and Blairstone Road.

TPD says that the officer chased Davis as he ran across four lanes of traffic. Davis eventually put his hands above his head, laid down on the ground, and was handcuffed without incident, according to police.

Meanwhile, the victim was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and interviewed by TPD.

TPD says that Davis is currently on probation for a period of two years for the charge of marijuana possession. Davis has violated the terms of his probation by committing this crime, according to TPD.

Davis was transported to the Leon County Jail.
