TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Following Saturday morning's shooting death of a Leon County Sheriff's deputy, the community is coming together and leaving a light on.

The group 53 Hours started a Facebook event, asking everyone to leave a porch or window light on for the next 53 hours. That amount of time signifies that across the country, a first responder is killed in the line of duty every 53 hours.

Blue is the traditional color to support law enforcement, but the group urges you to use any color bulb, lamp or candle.
