Gov. Rick Scott appoints Glen Gilzean to FAMU Board of Trustees

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (GPO) -- Thursday, Florida Governor Rick Scott appointed Glen Gilzean to the Florida A&M University Board of Trustees. 

Gilzean is from St. Petersburg and is currently the vice president of Step Up For Students. He previously worked in the Pinellas County School Board and as a regional field director for the Florida Department of Education. He is a member of the NAACP Education Committee. Gilzean received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Florida. He succeeds Charles Langston and is appointed for a term beginning March 14, 2013, and ending January 6, 2018.

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
