TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Community leaders and members gathered at Springwood Elementary Monday morning to share stories with students in the midst of their school day.
The school hosted their 14th annual African American Read-in, which featured several Black individuals reading books and literature authored by African American writers.
WTXL First Alert Chief Meteorologist Casanova Nurse has been a frequent participant in the Read-in over the years. This time, he read the inspirational story You Can Do It! by former NFL coach Tony Dungy to two fourth-grade classes.
The Read-in is held in conjunction with Black History Month.
