TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — No charges will be filed against a woman who caused an evacuation at the Kirkland's in Tallahassee when she brought a BB gun inside the store and locked herself inside a bathroom.

The Tallahassee Police Department says they responded to the Kirkland's store at 1604 Governors Square Boulevard Monday afternoon around 2:33 p.m.

When officers arrived, they received information about a woman who had walked inside the store with a gun and barricaded herself inside a bathroom in the store. All customers and employees were evacuated to a safe location while officers attempted to make contact with the suspect.

At 2:49 p.m., the woman was detained by TPD officers. The gun was found to be a pellet/BB gun which had the appearance of a rifle.

Thankfully, no one was hurt during the incident.

Now, after interviewing witnesses and examining evidence, police say charges were not filed against the woman.

"At the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined there was no probable cause under Florida Statute to arrest the female due to the fact the weapon was a pellet/BB gun and it was not displayed in a threatening manner," police say.
