Adelson answered questions about her family, her ex-husband, and any possible involvement in his death.
Adelson said she had nothing to do with her ex-husband's death and she didn’t believe that her family had anything to do with it either. Dan Markel's ex-wife was called to the stand late in the day on Friday
Adelson said her family was upset with Markel about the way the divorce was going. In an email, Donna Adelson, Wendi’s mother, refereed to Markel as "jibbers."
Adelson described what that meant to the court.
"Jibbers was a nickname that I gave Danny when he was being really difficult and causing me a lot of pain. It was sort of a nickname I gave him to make him feel less threatening," said Adelson.
Adelson also talked about why she kept her kids away from Dan Markel's family.
She said Markel's mother tried to put them in foster care. The state presented emails saying Ruth Markel only wanted to do that in the event that Adelson and her family was arrested.
At another moment in court, Adelson also said I’m not going to jail with a slight chuckle.
