WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man for child pornography on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Detectives of the Criminal Investigations Division at the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office arrested 50-year-old Darryl Mattison Gruber and charged him with five counts of possession of child pornography after executing a search warrant at his residence.
The search warrant followed a multiple months-long investigation by the CID, WCSO stated.
According to the report, Gruber was present when the search warrant was executed, wherein multiple laptop computers, hard drives, cellular telephones, and USBs were seized, including an iPhone found in Gruber's bedroom containing tens of thousands of images and many thousands of videos.
Due to the length of time investigators said it will take to fully review all of the images and video recordings for further evidence of child pornography and the number of electronics submitted for more thorough forensic extraction and examination, the investigation will be ongoing, and additional charges are expected to be forthcoming.
Special Agents of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Internet Crimes Against Children squad assisted with the investigation.
Following the search warrant's execution, Darryl Gruber was transported to the Wakulla County Jail and booked in.
