WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — The Florida Department of Health has confirmed its first positive case of coronavirus in Wakulla County.
The case was confirmed in a 45-year-old woman on Sunday, according to the FDOH's statewide dashboard.
State health officials say the case was not travel-related but did say that the woman had contact with a confirmed case before testing positive for COVID-19.
In their Sunday evening report, FDOH said that 41 people have been tested for COVID-19 in Wakulla County.
FDOH-Wakulla is encouraging residents to take precautions and practice mitigation techniques like social distancing to prevent any further spread.
