TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Tallahassee seniors got a little help with their cars Thursday morning.

It was all thanks to the Tallahassee Police Department's CarFit event.

The program teaches seniors how to make their car better "fit" them. That increases safety and mobility when they hit the road.

"Tallahassee is a very diverse community, so within that community we have people who are seasoned drivers and as we get up there things change, body dynamic change," said Eric Hansen with TPD. "We unsure that these drivers position correctly inside the car from the steering wheel to the driver's seat and we go over rules of the road."

Experts looked at 12 key areas of fit, like space from steering wheel, proper seat belt use, and properly adjusted head restraints.
