TPD offering free Rape Aggression Defense Training for all women

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Tallahassee Police Department, Florida State University Police Department and the TCC Police Department want you to be aware of free self-defense training that is available to women in our community.

The Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) course is offered by TPD and is taught by nationally-certified R.A.D. instructors.

The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training. R.A.D. is not a Martial Arts program.

Below is a full list of all the classes for 2020 :

  • Class #1: January 25 & February 1
  • Class #2: April 4 & 11
  • Class #3: May 12, 13, 19 & 20 (5:30 - 8:30pm)
  • Class #4: July 11 & 18
  • Class #5: August 22 & 29
  • Class #6: October 10 & 17
  • Class #7: December 1, 2, 8 & 9 (5:30 - 8:30pm)
