TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Thousands came together under the stars Thursday night at Tom Brown Park for Tallahassee's annual Celebrate America event.
But not everything went as planned when rain came and the fireworks were canceled.
Dozens of people here tell me there's no better place to be on the 4th of July. This celebration at Tom Brown Park a memorable one especially for families who've made it a tradition to come here.
"We've been coming for 19 years and we love it here. Families can bring their kids and run around. The music of course we always love that."
And what would a 4th of July celebration be without a fireworks show to close out the night.
Sadly this year, rain got in the way but that didn't stop people from having a blast.
"My favorite things about here are the fireworks are that you can do crafts and do a lot of stuff. Lay down on the ground and have fun," said Valeria.
Thousands coming together to enjoy live music, local crafts and vendors, and time with friends and family.
"I mean just with friends and family being out here, the atmosphere, the fireworks, there's no other place like it," said Ken Mason.
And in the end, this celebration is all about showing pride for our country.
"The best thing about the 4th of July is celebrating the birthday of America," said Dylan.
