THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) — As part of the first phase of re-opening Georgia, some non-essential shops like gyms, nail salons and barbershops are welcoming customers again.
Foot traffic has been steady at Taylor's Barber and Beauty Shop in Thomasville.
“Its everything coming back to normal, like it should be," said David Jackson, a customer of Taylor's Barber and Beauty Shop. "But it's given me time to reflect on family and be with them too."
“I really thought it was a good time to start up," Jimbob Segler, another Taylor's customer said. "Barber shops were a wonderful thing and I would imagine the cosmetologists around are happy they’re back in business too.”
Beauty businesses need to adhere to state guidelines which include temperature checks, social distancing and wearing masks.
Not every shop made the decision to open its doors Friday. Only one out of 10 Thomasville nail salons contacted picked up, saying they were open.
