TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Therapy dogs can provide comfort and support during times of crisis, and front line workers at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare got to see some of those furry friends during shift changes to celebrate National Nurses Day.

Stephanie Perkins is the director of Animal Therapy at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare.

"They work really hard for our community, they're working long shifts," said Perkins. "It's very stressful for everyone involved, so not only is it a stress reliever for the nurses just to see the dogs and feel good to have the support of the community, but its really good for the volunteers to support the staff as well. So its a win-win for everyone."
