TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Tallahassee Community College is celebrating a one-year milestone of helping feed students in need.

Talon's Market is TCC's free on-campus marketplace.

It's helped put food on the table for more than 1,000 students so far.

"I've seen it impact a lot of students and help a lot of students," said Jayla Nickeo, the student manager for Talon's Market. "I've had students come in and say they haven't eaten in three weeks and this was going to be their first real meal in three weeks. So for it to be a year already and for us to help and touch so many students and be able to provide for so many students is really important."

TCC President Jim Murdaugh was at the event showing his support to students, packing bags with food and giving them out.
