TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Students at Tallahassee Community College faced with food insecurity now have the option of a free on-campus marketplace.

Talon's Market re-opened on Monday to support students struggling to put food on their tables.

The market closed after the college shifted to online learning last spring and the grand reopening comes with some new guidelines in the wake of COVID-19.

"We're following CDC guidelines," said Gerald Jones, the dean of student services at TCC. "Some things have changed, students must fill out appointments through our websites, and then they can pre-select the items that's important to them that they would like to pick up."

Items are pre-bagged to make it easier for students to grab and go.

Although appointments are encouraged Jones says walk-ins are welcome.
