TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — At Tallahassee Community College, graduating veterans were honored Friday morning.

About 30 of them were recognized during a small ceremony congratulating them for their service to our country and for their hard work while enrolled.

"It's been such a journey for us to go from the active side to the civilian side. So, TCC really hones in on making us feel welcome, making us feel comfortable. Checking in when we get here and saying these are the resources available to you," said Upton Fisher, the vice president of the Student Veterans Association. "It really does a great job just honing in and making sure we really are successful in our endeavors."

TCC's Commencement Ceremony is Saturday evening at 7:30p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.
