TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Barbers, nail technicians and hair stylists got the green light to head back to the shop on Friday.

With a little help from Orlando Barber John Henry, Governor Ron Desantis says those businesses can reopen on Monday as an expansion of the state's Phase One of reopening.

The Art of Love Salon is ready to reopen but want to practice caution, reopening slowly and making sure everyone is comfortable.

The announcement made Friday says the reopening will have enhanced safety protocols.

Masks and gloves are mandatory and salons can only take people by appointment, meaning no more walk-ins.

The owner of The Art of Love, Orphelia Saintelmym, says working so close to people can be an issue with this virus but they plan to be as careful as possible.

"Overall, of course everybody's caution is going to remain on a certain level," said Saintelmym. "Making sure the clients are protected, making sure we're protected, and there are definitely ways to do that.”

Saintelmym says they have already stocked up with gloves and masks.

Over the weekend, she will work with her staff on coming up with those new safety protocols.

The Art of Love says they will strictly enforce appointments only, allowing no walk-ins under any circumstances.
