TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Tallahassee Police Department says a man was shot Tuesday night while confronting a group of juvenile suspects who were trying to break into cars on Elberta Drive.
TPD says the shooting happened near the 1200 block of Elberta Drive around 11 p.m. Tuesday night.
Police say the shooting happened when a resident saw several people, who appeared to be juveniles, trying to break into vehicles in the Elberta Drive area. Another person, an adult man, was alerted to the criminal activity and tried to talk to the suspects. While talking to the suspects, the man was shot.
The man managed to drive away from the area and got help from a TPD officer who working an unrelated incident nearby. Officers and emergency personnel provided immediate medical attention to him.
The man was then transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
