TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Springtime Tallahassee kicked off Wednesday morning with a breakfast in Bloxham Park.

For almost 50 years, they've held Breakfast in the Park as a way to raise money for the Children's Lighthouse and the chance to go to other cities to highlight Tallahassee.

More than 1,000 people joined the Springtime Tallahassee crew Wednesday morning.

"The best part is people don't realize the cultural opportunities here in Tallahassee," said Gary Fitzpatrick, the 52nd Andrew Jackson. "We get an opportunity to interface with these folks. It's an excellent opportunity for ambassadorship."

Springtime Tallahassee will host its free concert at Kleman Plaza on March 27, and the big parade and Jubilee festival is Saturday, March 28.

You can catch the Parade live on ABC 27, a proud sponsor of the event. For a full list of Springtime Tallahassee events, click here.
