TALLAHASSEE, Fla.(WTXL) — The Salvation Army of Tallahassee received a rare South African Krugerrand coin as a generous donation on Christmas Eve.
Officials say someone anonymously donated an one ounce gold Krugerrand in a red kettle on Christmas Eve.
According to Monex.com, the coin is valued at more more than $1,500.
The Salvation Army was so grateful for the donation that they took to social media to express their gratitude.
