TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Seniors at SAIL High School can now call themselves graduates.
Vehicles packed with parents and students filled up the Civic Center parking lot for the drive-in graduation ceremony.
Everyone had to stay in their vehicles as they watched their peers address the class on two giant screens in the parking lot.
They didn't mind. The seniors were more than grateful for the ceremony.
"We could have so easily been stuck with some online zoom call," said Moriah Oliff, a SAIL High School Graduate. "But, they made this happen and we are so grateful. Even if we can't be here close and hug, we're here together and that's what matters."
The ceremony ended with a bang, literally.
Fireworks were set off, giving seniors a wonderful sendoff.
