QUINCY, Fla. — To reduce crime it takes a community wide effort and the Quincy Police Department is calling on other agencies in the county to step up and help.

The Quincy Police department is calling on local law enforcement agencies and the community to reduce a growing trend of crime within the county.

"This is a community issue that we are working hard in order to alleviate and stop the violence here in Gadsden County," said Captain Robert Mixson of the Quincy Police Department.

Earnestine Weston, who lives in Gadsden County, says she's tired of the crime and says enough is enough.

"It's a lot going on and something needs to be done about it," said Weston.

That's why the Quincy Police Department is working with the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office, Gretna Police, and Chattahoochee Police to find ways to keep criminals off the streets.

"We understand that criminals do not stay in one place, that we are actively trying to get with our sister and brother partners and agencies in order to make Gadsden County a better place to live," said Mixson.

Quincy Police plan to host a meeting with agencies within the county soon. We will update you as soon as a date is set.
