QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) — Quincy is making it a little easier for you to get a face mask.

On Friday, the mayor and commissioners handed out thousands of free masks.

The masks were locally created and say "Quincy be safe."

This weekend, the mayor will be walking door-to-door to deliver masks to the elderly and those who can't come out.

"We will do what ever we have to to keep our citizens safe, to keep them informed, and to give them the necessary resources to combat this coronavirus," said Angela Sapp, a city commissioner of Quincy. "We don't know how long the silent killer is going to be here, but as long as there is a need in the community we will be here to make sure that we fill that need with any kind of resources we can. "

There's also free COVID-19 testing from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Capital Regional Medical Center in Quincy.
