Professors look to make FSU more inclusive with 'Diversity Talks' podcast

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A push for more diversity at Florida State University has professors taking action.

Creating a podcast called Diversity Talks, the podcast funded by a grant allows them to bring in guests who are experts in making the community more inclusive.

They tell ABC 27 this goes beyond FSU, hoping to make things better on the national and international level when it comes to equity and equality.

"It's a magnified platform for us to talk about topics from racism, gender-ism, sexism to xenophobia, " said Dr. Tanu Kohli Bagwe, with the Global Citizenship Certificate, FSU Center for Global Engagement.

"FSU campus and the Tallahassee community is just uniquely diverse and we really wanted the podcast to cherish this diversity," said Program Director Dr. Elҫin Haskollar.

The first episode airedthis Monday, they are looking for more grants to makes sure it continues for another season.
