LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — The case surrounding the murder of an FSU Law Professor Dan Markel is moving forward.

In court Tuesday morning, lawyers for Katherine Magbanua requested more time to review evidence, but it was denied by the Judge.

Katherine Magbanua and Sigfredo Garcia are both charged with solicitation and conspiracy to commit murder.

Markel was shot and killed in July 2014 outside his Betton Hills home. Lawyers for Magbanua requested more time to review evidence.

A judge denied that request in court Tuesday morning, which means the two are still set to stand trial on June 3.

The two suspects accused of the murder of FSU Law Professor Dan Markel are due in court Tuesday for a pretrial hearing.

Katherine Magbanua and Sigfredo Garcia are scheduled to appear in Leon County Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m.

They are charged with solicitation and conspiracy to commit murder.

Markel was found shot to death outside his Betton Hills home back in July 2014.

Trial is set for June 3 and is expected to last three weeks.
