TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A popular Tallahassee food truck is off the streets for the next couple of months.

El Criollo was the only homemade Puerto Rican food truck in our area. The truck will be out of commission for a while.

Last Wednesday, the truck collided with a car on Tennessee Street and White Drive. That accident caused enough damage to the motor to total the truck.

El Criollo Grill has been around for five years. In that time, people have grown to love the authentic Puerto Rican food.

Now the owners will have to find a new truck and custom build it to match the original.

"The customer support and feedback has been wonderful. A lot of people have called us, reached out to us, emailed us," said Gino Arroyo, one of the owners of El Criollo Grill. "My wife has been talking to them because I don't have a lot of patience. It put me out of business. I don't have any income."

A lot of customers are now asking the family to consider opening a dine-in restaurant but for now, they're focusing on getting another food truck on the road.

The owners say that they're expecting to be out of business for about two months, but they'll be back up and running before the year ends.
