TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Topics like where and how to get vaccines are just a few of many that will be discussed for seniors and health care workers during Thursday's virtual COVID-19 panel featuring doctors from Florida State University.

The panel, which starts at 5:00 p.m., is sponsored by 500 Women Scientists of Tallahassee, Big Bend Hospice, Elder Care Services, and the Tallahassee Senior Center. They hope to put seniors at ease when it comes to navigating the vaccine rollout.

"You know, our seniors are actually pretty excited about the vaccine, but they do have questions about it," said Dr. Christie Alexander from FSU's College of Medicine."I think some of the concerns revolve around how quickly the vaccine was made. And just explaining why and how that happened, talking about the scientific process that way."

While answering questions, Dr. Niharika Suchak also hopes to put confidence in seniors about the entire process...

"There is good science behind this because of a concentrated effort by scientists all around the world," said Dr. Suchak.
