BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WTXL) — Officers are searching for a man who they say walked inside of a Walmart and robbed an employee at gunpoint.

According to Bainbridge Public Safety, a suspect approached a Walmart employee who was standing in the front entrance area, placed a gun to his back, and removed his wallet from his back pocket.

The robber then left the scene on foot through the side door.

Several people mentioned that they had seen this person loitering in the parking lot and acting suspicious leading up to the time of the robbery but no one reported him, according to BPS.

Officers say due to the way the robber was dressed and the fact that he had his face covered, it is difficult to identify him, except for possibly by his shoes.

If you do think you recognize this man, please contact Investigator Chip Nix at 229-726-4119 or email chipn@bainbridgecity.com.

BPS is also reminding the public of situational awareness. They say situational awareness is understanding the current environment, and being able to accurately anticipate future problems to enable effective actions.
