TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Leon County is stepping in to help the Department of Health take on the task of scheduling vaccine appointments.
Help that will free up Department of Health workers who have been working nonstop since the start of the pandemic.
"It really was a question of, can public health people do things besides man calls," said Mathieu Cavell, Assistant to the County Administrator of Leon County. "Can they be the folks who continue to do contract tracing? Can they be the people that run that clinic?"
Through the Volunteer Leon website, people can sign up to become scheduling volunteers, with 30 already on the job.
