The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing 71-year-old Jerry Wilson.

The search for Wilson, who's from Apalachicola, started Tuesday and has continued through the early morning hours of Wednesday.

Deputies said his last known location was Bucksiding Road, where he told his family he would be ditch fishing. Wilson was known to fish and hunt near the Pine Log area of the New River, deep in the Carrabelle forest area.

Additional resources have now been deployed to include helicopters and a plane to help cover the forest area. At this time, deputies suspect Wilson may still be in Tate's Hell Swamp.

He was last seen driving a 2014 Chevy Silverado, silver in color, with the tag 236RGR.
