MONTICELLO, Fla. (WTXL) — For students, virtual learning has become almost the new normal.
That's why Zef Fessenden and Maggie Burgess have been spending their free time building desks for virtual learners around the Big Bend area.
So far, they have made 10, each costing around $28, that will go out to a family that needs them.
Fessenden said he thinks it's important for kids in school to get out of their normal environment for a proper learning experience.
"We all thought that it was good to have a specific place to study to work," said Fessenden. "Not on your bed, or a couch, but a place that you can sit there and study and I think that's helpful for kids."
If you would like to help or would like information on receiving a desk, you can contact the Monticello Chamber of Commerce at (850) 997-5552.
