TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A man has been arrested after a hit-and-run crash on North Monroe Street in Tallahassee Tuesday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 9 a.m. on North Monroe Street just north of I-10.

They say the first car, a GMC 3500 driven by 42-year-old Justin Harrell, was traveling southbound on Monroe Street behind a Chevy Corvette.

At some point, troopers say Harrell crashed his car into the back of the car in front of him, causing the vehicle in front to drive into a ditch. However, they say Harrell didn't stop after the crash and kept driving.

FPH says the driver of the Chevy Corvette, a 58-year-old man, was taken to the hospital for serious injuries.

Authorities later located Harrell's car just north of the crash and arrested the Panama City man for leaving the scene with serious bodily injury.

FHP was assisted by Leon County Sheriff's Office, Tallahassee Police Department and the Tallahassee Fire Department.
