Man found dead in Valdosta home with trauma to his body, police investigating

VALDOSTA, Ga. — Police are investigating after a man was found dead inside a Valdosta home with obvious trauma to his body.

On Sunday at about 3:36 p.m., Valdosta Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a home in the 1100 block of West Gordon Street, in reference to a woman calling about a domestic dispute.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Justin Hodges inside the home, with obvious trauma to his body.

Officers tried first aid and EMS responded to the scene, but Hodges was pronounced dead at the home.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel from the Valdosta-Lowndes Regional Crime Laboratory responded and began an investigation.

Detectives interviewed numerous witnesses and looked at several items of evidence. At this time no charges have been filed against anyone and detectives are working closely with the District Attorney’s Office to determine the course of action for this case.

VPD says there is no further information being released at this time.
