TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Pandemic problems continue to impact businesses negatively during what should be one of the busiest times of the year.
Places like Table 23 in Tallahassee are not seeing the crowds they're used to, saying business is down 40 percent for a normal December.
"We have seen just a lot of community support, you know sometimes you have to look at the silver lining when it seems like nothing is going your way,"said Mandy Lemons, the owner of Table 23.
Some of the business they are seeing is community support generated by the Love Your Local campaign, through the Leon County Office of Economic Vitality.
"I think this year, more so than any year, small businesses really need our help, and I think that this campaign really galvanizes the awareness to kind of support local and get people out to support them, and maybe patronize a business they may not have known about before," said Drew Dietrich, Deputy Director of OEV.
The social media campaign put 300 businesses in the spotlight.
"That culminated in over 15,000 views via Facebook, we also did a video series and that has seen over 5,000 views along with over 31,000 impressions on Twitter," said Dietrich.
"It's really nice to see Tallahassee come together the way that they have," said Lemons.
OEV will continue the campaign for the rest of the year.
