Leon County Supervisor of Elections extends early voting dates

LEON COUNTY, Fla.(WTXL) — The Leon County Supervisor of Elections is making it so that everybody has as much time as legally possible to vote this election season.

The early voting dates have been extended by five days. Now, you can cast your ballot starting next Monday.

This way, you not only have more days to choose from, it should make it easier to stay socially-distant from your neighbor with less people in the building at once.

Deputy Supervisor Chris Moore says this time around, you may even see yourself get through quicker.

"It might take a little longer to get through the voting area if people are spread out in the privacy booths. There might be a little bit of a line to wait to get in if we're doing that. So it takes a little longer to get through the voting area but adding additional days, maybe that will cut down on the wait times," said Leon County Deputy Supervisor of Elections, Chris Moore.

Another new addition this year: The ballot box.

You'll be able to find these outside the supervisor of elections offices. This way, you can drop your mail-in ballot here, instead of going inside.
