FLORIDA (WTXL) — Gov. Ron DeSantis has ordered that all school districts in the State of Florida be closed for two weeks.
The start of state testing will be delayed by a minimum of two weeks.
For Leon County Schools, this means one week of spring break and one additional week after. LCS will tentatively return to school on Monday, March 30th.
All after school activities will also be canceled indefinitely.
"Leadership will continue to meet to plan for how this decision will impact employees and students who rely on the district for meals and more," LCS wrote in a statement. "This is a very fluid situation and we will update you with information as we receive it."
Parents are encouraged to update their contact information on the FOCUS App as soon as possible.
