TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Leon County Commissioners have voted to keep funding Tallahassee's Council on Culture and Art.

Tuesday night, Leon County Commissioners voted to keep funding COCA.

The topic drew plenty of public comment at the meeting. So many people came out, they had to set up chairs outside of the commission chambers.

Commissioners decided to continue to work with COCA instead of creating an arts and culture division in the tourism department.

In 2019, $1.3 million of COCA's budget came from the county. $192,000 came from the city.

As part of the vote, commissioners will continue another five year contract with COCA.
