The Leon County Commission voted unanimously to move forward with added pedestrian safety measures on Dempsey Mayo road at their meeting Tuesday.
Improvements include raising three crosswalks, painting them for visibility and relocating a current crossing.
The request came after residents say the road has become busier and more development has come up in the area.
