LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — A well-known Leon County Circuit Judge announced his resignation Friday.
ABC 27 confirmed Judge James Hankinson is resigning June 30th.
Hankinson has presided over several big murder trials in Tallahassee during his career, including the Dan Markel Murder Trial and the Henry Segura Trial.
In his letter of resignation, Judge Hankinson said it's been a "great honor" to serve.
Former Governor Jeb Bush appointed him in 2002.
