TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Florida Highway Patrol and the Leon County Sheriff's Office responded to a multi-car crash Monday morning at the intersection of Apalachee Pkwy. and Conner Blvd. between Conner and Twin Lakes that ended in the death of the drivers of both vehicles.

According to FHP, vehicle one was traveling north on Twin Lakes Circle preparing to make a left turn onto Apalachee Parkway and vehicle two was traveling eastbound on Apalachee Parkway.

The driver of vehicle one failed to yield the right of way, and pulled out in front of vehicle two, according to the report.

FHP said the front of vehicle two collided with the left of vehicle one. After the collision, both vehicles traveled into the westbound lanes.

Vehicle one's final rest was on the north shoulder of the roadway facing northeast and vehicle two's final rest was in the westbound outside lane facing east, FHP says.

Vehicle one subsequently caught fire.

Both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted by the Leon County Sheriff's Office, Leon County EMS, and the Tallahassee Fire Department.
