TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Leon County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash that happened Thursday morning on Blountstown Highway.
According to LCSO, deputies responded to a crash involving a Honda Civic and a Dodge Ram truck in the 6300 block of Blountstown Highway just before 7 a.m.
When they arrived, deputies and firefighters with the Tallahassee Fire Department found the Civic with "extensive rear-end damage" and the Dodge Ram truck with front-end damage.
In a release, LCSO said they treated both drivers on the scene with the Civic's driver being sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the truck's driver being medically released on scene.
After trying to save the life of the Civic's passenger, they were pronounced dead on the scene.
This investigation is still open and active, LCSO said. In accordance with Marsy's Law, the deceased's information has been withheld by family request.
LCSO had to close the area of Blountstown Highway earlier Thursday morning during the investiagtion.
