LEON COUNTY, Fla.(WTXL) — Winter sports in Leon County’s public school system will follow the same protocol as fall sports and play a county only schedule.
Leon County Schools Director of Student Activities Scott Hansen said they will make a decision in December if teams can play out of county teams starting in January based on the trend of COVID-19 cases in Leon County.
There will not be any conditioning allowed for winter sports, and unlike with fall sports, there is no blanket start date.
Winter sports will start practicing and tryouts on the pre-determined date decided by the FHSAA.
