That petition has since been signed by more than a million people.
Attorney Benjamin Crump also shared the petition on Twitter last week, saying the teen's "killer was never held accountable."

In 2016, the Department of Justice announced that they would not be filing charges in Johnson's death.
Investigators say the 17-year-old was found upside down in a rolled up gym mat at Lowdnes County High School on January 10, 2013.
The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, along with state investigators, ruled the death was an accident, saying Johnson reached in to get a shoe and got stuck.
