TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The start of 2020 comes with a big change for the yoga studio where two people were shot and killed in Tallahassee.

On Wednesday they announced they are rebranding as Rising Om Yoga.

Back in December, the owner said she would not be able to separate the name "Hot Yoga Tallahassee"with the shooting that happened in November 2018.

Five people were hurt and two people were killed during the shooting.

Owner Brittani Whittington, said stress from the lawsuits against her studio, is part of the reason she needs to rebrand.

Hot Yoga Tallahassee is facing two lawsuits both related to the November shooting.

The parents of Maura Binkley, who was killed in the shooting are suing the studio, and property owner Betton Place.

They're asking for $15,000.

They claim the facilities didn't provide enough security against the shooter.

Then in November a second lawsuit was filed.

A victim who was hurt in the shooting, is suing the yoga studio, Betton Place, and the real estate company.

She also claims there wasn't enough security against the shooter.
