TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Lines wrapped around Bragg Stadium at Florida A&M University with post holiday travelers ready to get a COVID-19 test.
Richard Allen stayed in Tallahassee for Christmas but says he's getting tested before he sees his loved ones.
"I know in my family I have a lot of older people who have pre-existing conditions and COVID can affect them if they're positive," said Allen.
Most stood in line for more than an hour to receive either a lab or rapid result test on one of the busiest days yet this year.
"Just before Thanksgiving we saw really long lines, it dropped down a little bit, last week they picked up just before Christmas," said Tanya Tatum, the director of Student Health Services at Florida A&M University.
That rush sent around 3,200 people to the testing site in just a few days before Christmas.
"We're seeing consistently over 2,000 people per day," said Tatum.
The Bragg Stadium testing site is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and you are urged to make an appointment ahead of time.
