Gov. DeSantis issues executive order removing Scott Maddox as city commissioner

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Scott Maddox is no longer a Tallahassee City Commissioner after Gov. Ron DeSantis issued an executive order.

On Friday, DeSantis issued Executive Order 19-184, removing suspended City Commissioner Maddox.

Maddox pled guilty on Tuesday to honest services wire fraud, honest services mail fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States.

The extortion charges come with a maximum of 20 years. Tax fraud can hold up to 5 years.

39 of the charges were dropped because of the plea deal. He will be sentenced on November 19.
