GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office announced Saturday that Deputy Brian Faison died after contracting COVID-19.
Faison served as a Gadsden County Deputy for 26-years.
The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement Saturday morning:
“On behalf of The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, I pray for understanding for the bereaved as I extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Deputy Brian Faison. And for all of those closest to Brian; just know that his GCSO family inherently shares this burden of sorrow because he was our brother-of-the-badge!
In spite of this tragic loss, along with others who are currently stricken by this virus; I am encouraged that my GCSO family will trust our faith in God and lean on one another for strength! It is in these most tragic times that we must come together, stand in unity and allow our faith and beliefs to guide us through the bereavement and healing process.
At this moment and in this time of uncertainty for our nation; I am lead to remind our Law Enforcement and First Responder Communities to remain Vigilant! We cannot break, fail nor fall and not allow Brian’s death to be in vain! We must remain focused, cautious and stand tall for our fallen comrade!
Lastly, and most importantly please be mindful of your safety, the safety of your family, comrades and the safety of those we have taken an Oath to protect! Brian we thank you, we love you and we will miss you! We’ve got it from here-May you Rest In Peace!”
Faison is the second GCSO employee to die after contracting the coronavirus.
