GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating Sheriff Morris Young's appointment to the Task Force to Reopen Florida.

Sheriff Young says he was humbled to be selected as a part of the Task Force to Reopen Florida. He says his main priority is do it without putting anyone at risk.

He was one of many experts chosen to aide Governor DeSantis to reopen the state.

“I know the expertise coming from all over the state of Florida that we’re going to find a way to reopen Florida safely, so that our citizens can go back to work and also provide for their families,” said Young.

The task force is made up of 23 members from all over the state.

They had their first virtual meeting Wednesday, Sheriff Young bringing the perspective of law enforcement to the force.

He sends his thanks to Governor DeSantis for the honor to represent Gadsden County.
